Job Title:

Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer/QA Team Manager

Position Description:

We are seeking a Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer/QA Team Manager to lead the QA team within our software development department.

Responsibilities:

• Working closely with the developers and the DBA to understand functional requirements; determine if the proprietary applications being developed are performing appropriately.
• Participate in the software release process.
• Participate in the business logic specification process.
• Participate in and contributes to, weekly team-lead status meetings.
• Provide regular status reports on the testing, problem areas, and successes.
• Participate in the on-going development of standard operating procedures and policies.
• Provide technical leadership in testing GUIS and non-GUI services.
• Coordinate test efforts across multiple functional team areas.
• Perform responsibilities of Quality Assurance/Test Engineer:
  • Develop automated test plans and conduct hands on testing.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining test-automation scripts.
  • Assist developers in designing and creating automated test suites; help develop test cases, provide automation, and create test harnesses and drivers as needed.
  • Verify if the application developed matches the business logic specifications.
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, test planning, and writing test suites.
  • Write and execute manual tests, report bugs, verify fixes, and perform final validation.
  • Interface with development, DBA, system administrators, traders and trade support.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of company proprietary software suite function, logic flow, and output.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years experience in software product QA.
• Experience with managing QA personnel.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience with testing both GUI and non-GUI applications on Windows.
• Experience with different types of tests such as functional testing, configuration testing, and regression testing.
• Demonstrated methodical approach to testing.
• Experience with performance testing (load and stress testing).
• Familiarity with shell scripts and automation.
• Experience with databases, especially MS SQL server.
• Experience with automation tools and the ability to use them effectively.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Exhibit sound judgment and decision-making ability.
• Well organized to be able to manage and handle multiple projects.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Occasionally may require nights and weekend work.
